'Magnum, P.I.' Home in Hawaii Sold for $8.7M But Not to Obama

If only Tom Selleck's character, Thomas Magnum, could be hired to solve the mystery surrounding the "real" "Magnum, P.I." home owner, we would not be haunted with the thought until now.

The "Magnum P.I." home, built in 1933, featuring a tennis court, a separate bath house and boat house. was sold for $8.7M. It was previously owned by Eve Anderson, a former Republican state representative and environmental activist, reports KITV.

Politico says that the three-acre beachfront estate in Hawaii was bought this week involving President Obama's friend and and one of his major donors. However, the details in this transaction seem to be mysterious, comments Politico.

According to Foxnews, the buyer of the 11,054-sq. ft. home was listed as "Waimanalo Paradise LLC." The one who signed the deed and mortgage papers was reportedly connected to Obama. She is Judy Grimanis, "an executive assistant at a Nesbitt's private equity firm, and a former employee of Penny Pritzker, the real estate millionaire Obama tapped to be Secretary of Commerce in 2013," as reported by Foxnews.

President Obama not the owner

CNN reports that although evidence seemed to show Obama is the new owner of the estate, the White House categorically denied the rumors on Friday.

Josh Earnest, press secretary of the White House said, "they are not," reports Politico.

It could have been a perfect home for the American President as the beachfront property offers the privacy Obama would appreciate, says CNN. It is secluded and "hidden from view by thick jungle, with the Pacific Ocean as his only real neighbor," CNN adds.

Other than that, "Obama loves Hawaii,'' say Politico. It is where the President spent his childhood and has religiously spent his vacations with his family, adds Politico.

CNN reports that some parts of Obama's childhood are already etched in this place--- from his high school to his mother's former apartment.

The real owner

Foxnews notes that on Thursday, Seth Madorsky, a lawyer advocating for Marty Nesbitt, said his client bought the property. Nesbitt is a Chicago businessman and served as Obama's treasurer during his first presidential run. Nesbitt is also Barack Obama Foundation chairman, Foxnews adds.

Madorsky said. "Marty Nesbitt has authorized me to advise you that I represented him in connection with the purchase. Marty did not have any partners or co-investors in the transaction," as reported by Politico.

Waimanalo residents' reaction

The rumor stirred Waimanalo, a beachfront area near Honolulu where "Magnum P.I." property is located, according to Politico.

One resident was worried about the strict security and the increase in traffic it may bring. "He's going to be protected by the Secret Service all the time, there will be all kinds of traffic woes," Uncle Nawai told KITV.

On the other hand, another resident was ecstatic with the news. "People are wondering what the security situation will be like, and will they be stopped every time they come home. I'm thrilled about it. I'm a fan. I think it is great, not just for Waimanalo and me, but for the state," said Lee Siegel.

To catch the vibe of one of the highest-rated TV shows in the 1980s, according to Nielsen ratings, as stated by the uploader--- here is the video of Magnum P.I.' s intro:
