Apple Watch, MacBook Retina, MacBook Pro, Apple TV & iOS 8.2 Update: Top 5 Apple Reveals at 'Spring Forward'

After the long wait, Apple concluded its "Spring Forward" event held on Monday and much was revealed by the tech giant in terms of its new product line.

Here we round up the major news unveiled by the tech giant during its presentation at the Yerba Buena Center fr the Arts in San Francisco:

  1. Apple Watch - As expected the star of the night was the company's first ever wearable technology. According to the Business Insider, Apple focused on displaying the difference scenarios why one would want/ need to have an Apple Watch. In terms of price, the watch begins at $349 with the most luxurious model being sold at $17,000.
  2. MacBook Air Retina - The highly anticipated 12-inch MacBook Air Retina was finally unveiled and weighing only 2 pounds, it's Apple's thinnest and lightest laptop yet. With the new "Force Touch Trackpad", Apple Insider notes that the new laptop features a single port for both charging and connectivity. The new laptop will come with a price tag starting at $1,299 and be available for release on April 10.
  3. Apple TV - HBO Now was launched and according to Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, at $14.99 per month, HBO arrives in April and will debut exclusively with Apple TV. "We love HBO. Over the years, they have created groundbreaking shows that have created a part of our culture," said Cook.
  4. MacBook Updates - While Apple has released a new MacBook product, older model owners shouldn't worry, per IGN, both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro product lines will be receiving updates that offer faster processors and improved battery performance.
  5. iOS 8.2 - In addition to hardware products, Apple has also released the iOS 8.2 update which now carries support for the Apple Watch. The system update is now available for download and installation.

Other information shared by Apple during the event include iPhone sales updates as well as health-related data collection.

Apple has also announced that to date, the Cupertino-based firm has sold over 700 million iPhones and with its newest devices, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, customers are reporting a 99% satisfaction rate, notes IGN.

Lastly, Apple shared about its ResearchKit that's been designed to aid medical researchers collect data using the iPhone which could lead to invaluable scientific knowledge.
