Anne Hathaway’s Home in ‘The Idea of You’ Now Available for Rent

Anne Hathaway's home in the hit rom-com The Idea of You, streaming on Prime Video, is now available for rent on Airbnb. 

The movie stars Anne Hathaway as Solène and Nicholas Galitzine as Gayes Campbell. In the movie, Hathaway plays a 40-year-old single mom who enters a whirlwind romance with Galitzine, a 24-year-old boyband member. 

Hathaway's character, who is an art history graduate, owns a home in California, specifically on Silver Lake. However, the home used for the movie is actually in Virginia Highland in Atlanta, Georgia.

The stunning three-bedroom and three-bathroom property can now be rented on Airbnb starting at $380 per night with a minimum two-night stay. 

Inside Solène's Home

When the movie's production team spotted the home, the exterior was perfect for the look they were going for. However, they spent two months renovating the interior space for the film. Firstly, they added wood beams and painted faux wood grain on the team to ramp up the show's design factor. They also renovated the kitchen, adding custom wooden cabinets, Craftsman-era tiles, and window panes. 

"We found it on Airbnb and selected it for the exterior look, but the interior wasn't right. It was all white and gray without many of the original or interesting details. We spent two months renovating it to bring back the historic age and personality," production designer Amy Williams told House Beautiful. "We added all of the plants, the bougainvillea climbing up her house, desert plants in the neighbor's lawn, and fake green leaves to all of the surrounding trees. We did our best to honor the foliage one would find in Silver Lake."

In addition, the production team painted the walls of the house to complement Hathaway's complexion. 

"All of the paint colors were tested against her skin tone on camera prior to selection," the production team said. 

Apart from the renovations done by the movie's production team-all of which will be kept by the property owner-the property features an open floor plan on the main level, a dining area, a living area with a statement green-tiled fireplace, and a reading nook tucked in the corner. 

The property's master bedroom has its own dedicated floor, with many of the design details mirroring the ones seen in the living room and kitchen.
