When the year 2020 happened, almost everyone stuck at home embarked on their DIY projects to keep their day busy and forget about the pandemic for a while. Others devoted their time learning TikTok dance trends so they can upload their own version of it. One TikTok user decided to combine both: DIY project plus TikTok, and it turned out pretty well and, yup, viral.

Christina, popularly known as @FlipDaddie on TikTok, used the social media platform to show off her extremely creative and satisfying furniture flipping skills. She has revamped numerous old items into branded furniture dupes.

Viral TikTok Furniture Makeover

According to Christina's TikTok profile, she flips old furniture at her parents' basement and "make it cute." Her expertise? Replicating expensive branded pieces from stores like West Elm and Anthropologie.

Whenever she spots a branded piece and could not believe the price tag, she begins the furniture flipping by hunting outdated, beat-up, and cheap pieces on Facebook Marketplace. Christina will give a much-needed makeover to the unloved items and turn them into lavish-looking furniture.

While Christina's furniture flipping journey on TikTok only started six months ago, she now has a total of 192,400 followers, and her videos have received a total of 1.3 million likes. What sets her apart from other DIY-enthusiasts on TikTok is her willingness to revamp the furniture to fit her own liking totally.

Below are some of Christina's best furniture makeover and furniture dupe on TikTok.

Classy Nightstand

This is so far her most viewed TikTok entry with over 3.6 views. Christina recently went viral for this video where she flipped a vintage-looking "I saw this nightstand on the store and could just not justify the price," she said, referring to a blue Anthropologie nightstand worth $898.

As usual, she hopped onto Facebook Marketplace and found two old nightstands, which she got for free. Christina started working on the furniture makeover by filling the wood carving with food fillers, sanded it all down, remove the top drawer, paint it with navy blue, and spray-painted other parts into gold. The result was breathtakingly sophisticated and actually looked better than the original!

Hutch

Christina turned an old and musky hutch into a sleek bar cabinet. She ditched the bottom of the hutch, used only the top part, replaced the glass windows with solihiya matting, and painted it with teal blue, resulting in an ultimate boho bar cabinet.

Wine Rack

What to do with a $20 dull brown sideboard? Turn it into a luxurious-looking buffet table/ wine rack. Christina scored the old piece on her favorite Facebook Marketplace and proceeded with her magic.

She transformed it by sanding all the sides, replaced the middle shelf with a mirror and wine racks, painted it white, and added a gold and silver touch on the cabinet handle. Sophisticated indeed!

Dresser to Nightstand

$348 for a nightstand? Christina says no thanks! Good thing a friend lent her an old dresser, and off she goes to another furniture flipping project. She tapped a friend with power tools to help her tear down the first two drawers, changed the hardware, painted it white, and voila, a stunning Anthropologie nightstand dupe.
