MacBook Air Retina, iPad Pro, iPad Air Plus To Release With Apple Watch on Mar. 9 Not iPhone 6S [Rumors]

Apple sent out invites to a "Spring Forward" event to be held on March 9 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California. While Apple hasn't specifically announced what the event will be about, analysts believe that the highlight of the event will be the much-awaited Apple Watch.

Based on the title, it's safe to say the Apple Watch is the focal point. The tagline relates to time as March 9 will be the day after the start of Daylight Saving Time in the United States.

Recalling an earlier report, CEO Tim Cook announced that the firm was on track for an "early 2015" release with the watches ready to ship out by April of this year. The Apple Watch was unveiled last Sept. alongside its newest smartphone, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

So far, we know that the watch's entry level model has a starting price of $350 and is made up of three collections, namely the Apple Watch Sport (aluminum casing), Apple Watch (stainless steel casing), and Apple Watch Edition (18k gold casing). There are speculations that the second edition could cost up to $1,000 while the 18k gold and rose gold models could come with price tags as high as several thousands.

Other Product Surprises

There were reports that a tandem release would happen for the Watch that would include another iPhone release, namely the 6S with the iPhone 7 being launched at its regular Sept. date. However, multiple sources indicate Apple may use this opportunity to launch an updated iPad or MacBook device.

According to MacWorld, there is speculation that Apple will use this launch date to unveil not only the Apple Watch but other products the well. One device we've heard about consistently over the last few months is the new 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina display pegged for release also in early 2015 (unofficially, that is).

Reports indicate that the new and improved MacBook Air will come with an improved processor, storage specs, graphics as well as a much slimmer frame.

It was expected to launch in February to coincide with the 60th birthday of Apple founder, Steve Jobs. This Apple event would be the next big date if indeed the redesigned MacBook was geared for a early 2015 launch.

The tech giant could also launch its rumored 12-inch iPad Pro or iPad Air Plus, Apple's effort to boost decreasing iPad sales.

Whatever Apple does plan to launch on March 9, changes are whatever doesn't make are still potential candidates for the annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

Stay tuned for more.
