One Direction Split After Harry Styles Makes Own Music? [Rumors]

Fans of One Direction might soon have their hearts broken as rumors are circulating that Harry Styles is planning to go solo.

According to Hollywood Life, the 21-year-old considered breaking out on his own to shed off his boy band and teeny-bopper image. The British singer has been interested in making rock music for the longest time, and he is reportedly taking steps to realize that dream.

An insider told the website that Styles is very keen on having his own solo musical career.

"Harry would love to break out on his own as a solo artist. He really wants to get away from the teeny-bop stuff and sing a rock record," revealed the insider.

The source also took note that Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend has always been fascinated with rock music even before he tried out for the British reality singing competition.

"When he first auditioned for 'X Factor' he was a huge fan of English rockers Oasis and wanted to sing rock anthems - just like them," added the insider.

While Styles may have had freedom to explore his rock music influences in the group's latest songs, it may not be enough for the young singer.

"He's recorded with different producers in London and in Los Angeles. Although he doesn't want to completely alienate his fan base, his new music is a lot edgier," the source continued.

A report in Kpopstarz said that the boy band member has been collaborating with music producer Johan Carlsson in the past few weeks.

Carlsson described Styles as a very "good songwriter" and said it was "an honor to write music with him."

The producer added, "He's fantastic with the words and he can really put down lyrics that are very conversational and people can relate to."

While the two had been working on and off the past weeks, Carlsson was quick to clarify that the two are just "having a good time" to see if they could "come up with something cool."

Even the man behind One Direction, Simon Cowell, acknowledged Styles' talent and believes he would go far even after One Direction splits, said The Daily Mail.

However, the PR team behind the popular British boy band denied these rumors and said the band is as close as ever . In addition, the team revealed that the band have been in the studio to record songs for their new album recently.

"Harry has been in the studio working on the band's new album. Louis and Liam were also in LA recording on their own for the upcoming release," said the group's PR officials.
