Air Jordan 4 'Oreo' Release Date, Price & Where to Buy?

Fans of the shoe collaboration between NBA icon Michael Jordan and the global sports brand Nike would have a new sneaker to be excited about. The company recently unveiled a new colorway for the Air Jordan IV.

The Air Jordan IV Retro is officially listed as Black / Tech Grey-Black color in Nike, which gave it the colorway name, "Tech Grey." However, most people prefer to call this design "Oreo" because of the grey speckles on the shoes' midsole as well as its color combination reminiscent of the popular cookie, noted Sneaker News.

The remastered design features premium tumbled black leather with dark grey accents on the laces and the iconic Jumpman logo on the shoe's tongue and heel.

The midsole features the same grey color with black speckles that adds character to the classic shoe, said Nike on its website. Moreover, the new Air Jordan IV maintains the technology used in the original shoe that came out in 1989.

According to Foot Locker, the Air Jordan IV was designed by Tinker Hatfield, the same person who brought the Air Jordan III to the market.

An air unit could be seen at the sneaker's midsole along with the padded tongue that was first introduced in the Air Jordan III. The same design could be seen in the 2015 Air Jordan IV Retro "Tech Grey."

The shoe, scheduled to hit the shelves on Feb. 21, does not mark the first time this design has been remastered and updated. In 1999, Nike came out with an upgraded version of the original Air Jordan IV, which came out 10 years earlier.

What makes the latest Air Jordan IV Retro different from the 1999 release is its side panel. In an article by Sneaker News, the upcoming model would feature ventilated leather on the side as opposed to the previous mesh panel used.

The Air Jordan IV is just one among the long list of remastered sneakers Nike would release for the Jordan Brand, which include the Air Jordan VII and Air Jordan XX.

According to 23isback.com, the brand decided to come out with retro releases in celebration of its 30th anniversary.

The brand thought that it is high time they return the classic pieces to the shelves with premium and high quality materials using cost effective ways, which would attract not just serious collectors but new fans of the shoes as well.

The Nike Air Jordan IV Retro "Tech Grey" is available in adult and grade school sizing. Adult sneakers would be sold at $190 a pair, while grade school pieces could be purchased at $140.

The shoe would be sold on Nike.com and select Nike retailers.
