‘Jurassic World' Release Date & New Trailer: Hasbro Reveals New Dino Indominus Rex Toy [See Here]

It's been announced that "Jurassic World" will introduce a new breed of dinosaurs, specifically the Indominus Rex, and fans now have a first look at the new dino through Hasbro.

The gamemaker has just unveiled its line of collectible merchandise for the fourth installment of the long-running dinosaur-themed adventure. According to IGN, earlier peeks were granted through leaks and a teaser trailer but the new beast has been officially unveiled.

The toys showing the monstrous animal was revealed during the Toy Fair 2015 held in New York.

According to JurassicWorld.com, the name means "Fierce" or "Untamable King." The creature that spans 40ft with an undetermined weight originated from the Hammond Creation Lab.

It details that the dinosaur was meant to be "the most fearsome dinosaur ever to be displayed at Jurassic World. The genetic engineers at our Hammond Creation Lab have more than delivered."

While its physical attributes may resemble that of the T. Rex, its features including its distinctive head ornamentation and ultra-tough bony osteoderms is an attribute that may be traced from Theropod Abelisaurs.

During an interview with SlashFilm, director Colin Trevorrow discussed the new species of dinosaur.

"We were hoping audiences could discover this on their own, but yes, there will be one new dinosaur created by the park's geneticists. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfill a corporate mandate-they want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And that's what they get."

He added that the animal isn't a "mutant," the dino was "created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level. For me, it's a natural evolution of the technology introduced in the first film. Maybe it sounds crazy, but most of my favorite movies sound crazy when you describe them in a single sentence."

"Jurassic World" is set 22 years after the events of Steven Spielberg's 1993 original. The revived franchise will feature "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Chris Pratt who will star along with Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, BD Wong -- a "Jurassic Park" alum --, Irrfan Khan, Judy Greer, Nick Robinson as well as Lauren Lapkus.

The film is set to be released June 12, 2015. The trailer for the fourth installment of the "Jurassic Park" franchise can be seen below.
