Oprah Invests on Coastal California Horse Farm

Oprah Winfrey becomes the new owner of one Coastal California Horse Farm after she has bought it at $28.85 million, recent report says. This is her next investment after she dropped $14 million for a property in Colorado a few months ago.

This coastal estate in Montecito, California is a 23-acre gem between the Pacific Ocean and Santa Ynez Mountains, which added to her assets and reputation of being the top celebrity seller and home buyer over the past decade.

According to Marty Rogers, member of Sage Auctions, who auctioned the property with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, specifically Dan Encell, this newly bought property named Seamair Farm, a Weight Watchers model, is three-quarters of a mile from the beach and is located up against the mountains, in the heart of Montecito. This place is also where a number of celebrities live, as per report.

One commentator on Zillow said that $28.85 million is way too much for a property with no ocean view. This could probably be the reason this property hasn't been in the real estate market for 40 years. Yet, it seems that Oprah has seen the greatest value of this farm, making it really sold out to her.

Zillow reports that this property could be a good source of natural produce like avocado and citrus fruits as the farm has a 2-acre avocado grove and plenty of citrus trees. The property also have amenities that people would surely enjoy like a 4,750-square-foot main house with four fireplaces, open and covered patios, plus a pool, a horse trainer's house as well as show horses, and a manager's cottage. There are also riding rings, extensive fencing, and irrigated pastures outside the barn.

Rogers also revealed that the property has two private wells that are functioning well throughout the drought, which he believed is the farm's biggest asset. Rogers also believes that Oprah must have great reasons for such huge investment.

"I think she has some pretty big plans for it," Rogers said.
