Real Estate Home Renovation Tips: A New Contemporary Look Design for Every Disrepair House

Homeowners need some renovation at some point, and a new insight of home designs especially if old houses are in disrepair condition. Others are in a dilemma whether to maintain the original design or totally strip the old designs to have a new contemporary look.

Renovations could be demanding at times especially if the property will be listed in the real estate market. It is because some owners want to make sure that the renovation will be worth it, when the house will be sold in the desired asking price.

One example of a property that was totally renovated is this property in Beverly Hills, 90210. LA Times reports that this "1920s Mediterranean was taken down to the studs and reimagined in a contemporary style trimmed with Old World undertones."

The new design of this old 1920s Mediterranean property has been renovated for a new look and is already listed in the market. As part of its new home design, this house built in 1926 has its two-story foyer already "topped by a massive skylight and a glass-enclosed cigar lounge with a controlled ventilation system are among features of the new-look residence."

Report says the property aside from having 8 bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms has new features that include a "living room with beamed ceilings and fireplace. It also has a wide-plank French white oak floors. The chef's kitchen has a center island." The property also brags a "master suite with adjoining study and his and hers bathrooms." A new owner will also be happy to have screening room, glass-enclosed cigar lounge, swimming pool and spa plus courtyard entry.

This property with a lot area of 0.38 acres, and a floor area of 9,114 square feet is now sold a $10.95 million.

Other modern designs are also featured in Dwell. In one of its article, a house that has a California ranch feel is in disrepair condition. The property has been refurbished not only its interior but also its exterior designs to restore the property into its livable condition. The modern design is simple, open, minimal style.

Report states that in the renovation "white oak flooring was used throughout the home's common spaces to create a unified space, and the roofline was lifted to allow for more light."Looking at the photos, it appears that the team in charged in renovating has done an excellent job. This property is not listed because the new owner is the one who initiated the renovation.
