Mortal Kombat X Update: Ed Boon Reacts to the Fan Outrage Over Leatherface as 'Mortal Kombat 2' Character DLC

After months of speculations, the four mysterious fighters in Kombat Pack 2 DLC for "Mortal Kombat X" are finally revealed at Game Awards 2015.

As previously reported, Leatherface from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," Xenomorph from "Alien," Bo Rai Cho from "Drunken Fist Master" and Tri-Borg that is a fusion of Cyrax, Sektor and Robot Smoke have finally ended countless guessing by "Mortal Kombat X" fans. But it looks like not all fans are delighted with all of the characters selection. While Bo Rai Cho and Tri Borg are generally accepted, a Mortal Kombat Online Poll shows that Leatherface and Xenomorph are the least liked characters among fans.

Furthermore, Leatherface has sparked fan outrage. A Reddit forum shows that nobody seems to be interested with Leatherface as an additional character for the popular fighting game. The participants of the forum seem to agree that no one had asked for the dreaded killer from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Just like what effyoungguns had written, "I've read through so many threads in this subreddit and I don't think a single person asked for Leatherface as DLC."

Therefore, many are wondering why Leatherface was included as a DLC. According to Design and Trend, NetherRealm Studios director Brian Chard admitted that the decision to include "Leatherface" was made by many people in the development team and "Mortal Kombat X" publisher Warner Bros. Still this does not answer exactly why Leatherface was chosen.

According to Mortal Kombat Online, Chard, being a fan himself, shared his own selection of heroes for Kombat Pack 2 DLC namely Fujin, Havik, Sareena and Khameleon. Apparently selection of heroes was not a decision that he could make alone. Ed Boon himself has tweeted a response, "'@FoxworthyJacob @noobde I'm heartbroken sindel isn't in KP2 EB: We hear ya...wish we could give everyone their favorites."
