‘Married at First Sight’ Cancelled for Good? ‘Seven Year Switch’ Replaces A&E Reality Show

"Married at First Sight" may have been cancelled for good, as A&E and FYI remain mum about the reality show's renewal for Season 3. The show was met with several controversies and issues, which sparked debates about the show's purpose on TV. Will "Seven Year Switch" replace the series?

No word has still been heard about a possible renewal for "Married at First Sight" from both A&E and FYI since the show's second season came to an end in 2014. Since then, almost all of the couples went on their own separate ways, with even one couple ending up giving death threats from one another.

Jessica Castro previously revealed that her husband, Ryan De Nino cheated on her and even threatened to kill her, which resorted to the latter securing a restraining order, MailOnline reported. De Nino allegedly threatened to kill her and her family and said: "I will break you into f***ing pieces. I will break your dad into pieces. I will make your whole family disappear - and your f***ing dog-a** sister's boyfriend."

Following these astounding claims from Castro, many fans and viewers started doubting on the purpose of the show and whether the people involved in the show really go through a rigorous process in screening and matching couples. This led to speculations that "Married at First Sight" is headed for the chopping block.

While A&E and FYI still have to air their side on the issue surrounding the show and its couples, Master Herald noted that the show may be gone for the good and the network's new reality show "Seven Year Switch" will serve as its replacement. The new FYI reality show is described as "an open assault on the institution because it is turning marriages into social experiments for the purpose of television, which is not good morally."

The fate of "Married at First Sight" remains uncertain for now, but the outlet noted that there is a little chance of seeing the show back for another season, as the show remained as one of the network's popular series. The series continued to sweep in high ratings during its two-season run on TV.

Should "Married at First Sight" be cancelled for good or should FYI renew the series? Is "Seven Year Switch" a better show than the first one? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
