‘Sense8’ Season 2 Updates: Netflix to Announce Renewal this Week? Series Creator Reveals Five-Year Story Arc

"Sense8" Season 2 is still up in the air, as Netflix still has not issued a renewal order for the sci-fi drama. While fans are still waiting for an official announcement from the streaming site, co-creator J. Michael Straczynski recently expressed confidence in the show's future on the network. Will Netflix announce the show's renewal this week?

"Sense8" fans may have something to rejoice about in the coming days, as co-creator J. Michael Straczynski recently admitted during the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con that he is very optimistic about the show's future.

Straczynski revealed that Netflix representatives previously told him that viewers watched "Sense8" Season 1 "straight through - three, four, six times," and that he is expecting to hear from them once again in the next two weeks, Comic Book Resources cited.

"Sense8" Season 1 concluded with a great ending to each of its characters, but the story has won the hearts of many fans and viewers in such a way that they're asking for more episodes.

"It's such a pleasure dealing with gender issues, privacy issues, sexuality issues that really have not been seen before [on television.]"

Meanwhile, in an earlier interview with Indiewire, Straczynski revealed that when he started working on "Sense8," he already knew that he wanted to work on the story for years.

"I love five-year arcs, so we have a five-year arc worked out for this thing. We know what all of the seasons are going to be," Straczynski said.

While Straczynski admitted that the future of "Sense8" rests on Netflix's decision to renew the series for Season 2, the co-creator revealed that he, together with Andy and Lana Wachowski, have already done "30 pages of notes" should the show be renewed for another season.
