"Outlander" Season 2 will cover Diana Gabaldon's second book titled, "Dragonfly in Amber," which will see Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) try to stop the Battle of Culloden from taking place. While details about Black Jack Randall's (Tobias Menzies) fate in the series are still unknown, Heughan and Balfe recently expressed relief that Menzies will be returning as Frank and not Black Jack.

"I mean, he's such a nicer man as Frank, isn't he?" Balfe told Zap2It during the recently concluded 2015 San Diego Comic-Con.

The 35-year-old actress admitted that she has been looking forward to seeing Frank and Claire together again after being separated in "Outlander" Season 1 for eight episodes.

"It's a very different relationship than Claire and Jamie have, and it was great scenes. It's nice not be around the perilous Black Jack Randall, for sure," she added.

Meanwhile, KDrama Stars reported that "Outlander" Season 2 will have author Diana Gabaldon write an episode for the Starz series. The author admitted that she is excited to write a script for one of the episodes of the show, despite the series having gone through quite a lot of changes.

Showrunner Ron Moore admitted that such changes were necessary, but these were all consulted with Gabaldon. Moore added that he was relieved when Gabaldon told him that she liked the changes made in translating the book to television.
