'House of Cards' David Fincher Buys Tribeca House for Over $5 million

"House of Card" executive producer David Fincher has reportedly dropped nearly $6 million for a snazzy 3-bedroom apartment in Tribeca.

In an exclusive from Variety, the Emmy-winning filmmaker's new residence is a condominium in a converted factory building in the heart the Big Apple. The property, where fellow director Steven Soderbergh lives, is approximately 2,200 square feet and has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The listing offers the following details:

"Introducing Seven Harrison, a striking turn-of-the-century building now re-imagined by Architectural Digest 100 architect Steven Harris. Overlooking historic Staple Street and offering southern exposures, Residence 2N features a gracious corner layout measuring over 2,100 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The grand entrance gallery is accessed directly from the elevator and leads to an expansive living/dining room nearly 32 feet in length with two exposures. The windowed eat-in kitchen offers a built-in banquette overlooking Staple Street. Ceiling heights of 10 feet in all rooms further enhance the elegant proportions. Designed with the impeccable attention to detail that is a Harris trademark, this special home combines voluminous loft dimensions with a classic prewar sensibility. The residence's interiors are imbued with the refined contemporary aesthetic that has made homes designed by Steven Harris so sought after by the world's cognoscenti, and are destined to set a new standard for downtown's most coveted neighborhood on Tribeca's most prized block. www.sevenharrison.com"

The boutique, pre-war, midrise building also offers a number of amenities for the famed producer. The listing notes that residents can enjoy services that include a full-time doorman, private elevator access, gym, bike room and private storage.

Variety added that aside from this new purchase, Fincher and his partner -- producer Cean Chaffin -- also own an estate they purchased nearly 20 years go in the swanky Los Angeles' neighborhood, Los Feliz. The home was purchased in 1996 for $3 million.

The third season of "House of Cards" was summarized by Netflix as: "President Underwood fights to secure his legacy. Claire was more than being First Lady. The biggest threat they face is contending with each other."

The series was created by Beau Willimon and is executive produced by Willimon, Eric Roth, Dana Brunetti, Fincher, and Kevin Spacey, who also stars in the series.
