After almost three years and a considerable price markdown, retired NBA star Shaquille O'Neal has finally found a buyer for his Florida mansion, which could be considered one of the Sunshine State's biggest homes on sale.

The 31,000 square-foot Windermere property was first put up on the market in mid-2018. The final sale was not disclosed to the public, but it seems O'Neal scored $16.5 million for the megamansion based on its last asking price. While it looks like a huge sum, it was not a slam dunk deal for the 15-time NBA All-Star player as the closing agreement was about 40% less than its original asking price of $28 million.

As per Mansion Global, the NBA legend's listing agent - Tiffany Pantozzi of Side Real Estate confirmed that Mr O'Neal's celebrity home now a contract to sell.

Property Details

Shaquille O'Neal's sprawling four-acre estate located at Windermere's Isleworth Golf and Country Club is a custom-built home fit for a 7-foot-pro basketball player. It has a total of 12 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms.

The Florida mansion is a Mediterranean-inspired waterfront home that boasts luxury amenities including a full-sized basketball court, a 17-plus car showroom, a soundproof home theatre, a cigar bar with a walk-in humidor, a lakefront office, and wine storage.

On the ground floor lies a massive living room with a double-height ceiling, which features Lake Butler's picturesque view. Upstairs holds the master's bedroom and some of the other bedrooms.

Aside from the Florida Megamansion, the Lakers legend also made a good profit after closing a deal for his Bell Canyon custom-home.

Shaquille O'Neal bought the 5,217-square-foot property in 2018 for $1.815 million. He has been trying to find a buyer for the said house since 2019 with an original asking price of $2.5 million.

The NBA star also made an effort to promote the listing by posting a video montage of his house on Instagram in February 2020.
