There are some infamous (and notorious) homes that gained that status due to a despicable thing happening inside them. However, there are some for sale today. Even though the thought of someone purchasing a home or a residential property that has been part of something awful, there are still people who will purchase such property.

Infamous Homes That Have Been Dubbed by Many as "True Crime Homes"

Over the years, homes that became infamous and/or notorious for being part of a crime scene was dubbed by many as "true crime homes". As the name says, the listed homes on the next part have been part of a criminal activity that happened some time ago, according to Ranker.com

  1. Phil Spector's Castle (selling price: $3.9M | crime involved: murder) - the first on our list nicknamed "Pyreness Castle", is involved with a murder case. The victim, actress Lana Clarkson, was murdered by a Phil Spector, a well-known record produced by his time more than six years ago.
  2. Gardette-LePrete Mansion (selling price: $4.9M | crime involved: mass murder) - a 19th century residential home that became part of the dark and gruesome slaying of a Turkish sultan's relatives. The said property is now for sale since 2016, with its huge 13,000 square-feet size, 15 bedrooms, and over 12 bathrooms, hence the mansion in its name.
  3. The Loz Feliz Murder House (selling price: $2.3M | crime involved: murder-suicide) - a residential property located in Los Angeles, this has been involved in the murder of Dr. Harold N. Pelerson's wife, in which he did and tried to also kill her daughter, but failed to do so. He then committed suicide afterward, believed due to the pressure from the various lawsuits and criminal charges he was facing in 1959.
  4. The JonBenet Ramsey Murder Home (selling price: $2M | crime involved: murder) - this home involves the murder of the youngest victim in this list, JonBenet Ramsey, who was only six by that time. Sadly, her was left unsolved, even though there were tons of pieces of evidence that have been put forward over the years. It is still active on its listing, with a few bids on it.
  5. Amityville Horror House (selling price: $605,000 | crime involved: murder) - arguably the most infamous on this list, this one needs no introduction for itself, as its horrific history has been told in many forms of media. The dark story of this home has been turned into books, movies, and TV shows. The family head, Ronald DeFeo Jr., murdered his own family inside the home in 1974. After that, the place has been known for its paranormal activity ever since.
