Seizures of Home Properties - An Issue For Legit Home Owners

There is an ongoing problem of home seizures around the country, wherein "sovereign citizens" are illegally claiming the home properties from its legitimate homeowners. Many of them are becoming victims of this possible nationwide housing scam that is going rampant in the United States.

Home Seizures by Sovereign Citizens - What and How They Are?

An incident took place on Sunday, wherein the police have been called in so that the issue can be kept under control, according to FOX News. The authorities said to the news channel that the so-called "sovereign citizens" have been doing rounds of personally knocking on the residents' doors in two communities. They have shown documents that look like the real deal, saying that they are the legitimate owners of the said property.

Those sovereign citizens claim that they own most or all of the land between Alaska and Argentina and even claim that they own both continents.

But what exactly are those sovereign citizens that terrorized many home communities? This didn't just happen in Seattle but in other places, such as in North Carolina and Maryland.

According to  ABC News, it is a group that is composed of squatters that are abusing the usage of anti-government ideologies, wherein it will then used for tricking homeowners with fake documents, such as questionable deeds and phony paperwork. They usually target home properties that are bank-owned upscaled homes.

That group believes that they are exempt from any government laws and requirements, such as paying taxes and not having proper documentation such as a driver's license.

The local authorities have arrested five members of that group in DeKalb County, wherein they were charged with theft, mortgage fraud, and other kinds of RICO crimes.

Sovereign Citizens Getting Into Conflict With The Authorities

According to the official website of the FBI, it has been reported that the said group had several alterations. The first one was in Delaware, Pennsylvania, wherein their scheme has been discovered by the local authorities, wherein it is then forwarded to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The next incident happened in Arkansas, wherein two police officers were unfortunately killed after the members of the said group open fired at them. This incident has proven that this group of squatters are willing to turn to violence, which is very alarming. The FBI is warning the public to avoid being in contact with this extremist group in order to avoid getting into problems.

Additionally, it has been noted that the said group is involved in other types of crimes, such as various financial frauds and schemes. Therefore, the FBI is watching this extremist group intently and is pursuing the other members and illegal activities that they have done in the past few years.
