ISIS Net Worth: How The Richest Organization Acquired Their Wealth

It's already a known fact that ISIS is one of the most popular terrorist groups worldwide. They are often marked as the most dangerous and aggressive terrorist group lead by Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi. As per NBC News, the group is known to be the wealthiest terrorist organization in the world, which gives them the capacity to move faster and continually expand. They may be loaded but they're spending their money too quickly.

As per the website, a U.S. analyst stated that their consecutive attacks is causing them huge amounts. "They are using it to pay the salaries of fighters and to some extent to administer the caliphate and pay civilian employees." It was also stated that the group would send money to the survivors of ISIS fighters that were involved in combat. The whole organization has around 20,000 to 31,000 fighters, as per the U.S. intelligence.

The Celebrity New Worth then reported that the group has an estimated net worth of $2 billion. With a net worth this high, where are they possibly getting their money from?

As per the website, the group makes more than $1.5 million a day from crude sales alone. Not only that, they still have numerous sources of income. They gather "20 percent of income taxes of over a population of 10 million people, 40 percent control of Iraq's wheat production, and almost $46 million in kidnapping for ransoms each year."

These may be a lot of sources, but oil is the terrorist group's main income source. ISIS controls 10 oilfields through Iraq and Syria. Both areas are dubbed by the militants "black gold." Oil is needed by the civilians living in the ISIS territory, and it also fuels war machines. The group sells around 34,000 to 40,000 barrels of crude oil each day to independent traders, and into the black market which gives them more than $1 million per day.

Aside from oil, they also gain from taxes. Christians living in the ISIS community were obliged to pay "protection tax" unless they would convert to Islam.
