Former Janet Leigh Beverly Hills Home Hits Market for $7.9 Million

Actress Janet Leigh is perhaps best remembered for the 'shower scene' in Alfred Hitchcock's famous 1960 thriller "Psycho". Janet, who plays Marion Crane in the movie, steps into the shower for a relaxing bath, but the killer stabs her to death there.

Apparently, Janet was so influenced by the scene that even in real life, she never stepped into a shower. Not even the one in her home at Beverly Hills. However, you can use her unused shower now if you have a spare $7.9 million lying around, because Janet Leigh's home in Beverly Hills has hit the listing market with the aforementioned asking price, according to several news reports.

The home has been completely renovated. Valerie Fitzgerald and Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker are the listing agents of the home, reports The LA Times.

Listing records at Zillow state that the residence is a four bed, four bath, 5180 square feet single family home sitting on a 0.57 acre lot. The residence has dark hardwood floors, high ceilings and an open floor plan.

Outside, it has a tennis court, a pool area with an infinity pool and a lovely lawn that offers great views of the skyline and the city below.

The listing describes the home as:

The 'Shower Scene' was so popular that Universal Studios decided to recreate the scene with a twist. They decided to hold a competition for the "Best Psycho Shower Scene Scream" in August 2000. Sue Pelinski, a resident of Park Ridge, Illinois, was the winner of the competition and got to meet Janet Leigh on the sets too.

Janet passed away in 2004 at the age of 77. Some of her most popular movies are 'Touch of Evil', 'The Manchurian Candidate', 'The Fog' and 'Hills of home'.
