"Outlander" Season 2 will see the continuation of events from Season 1, as Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall travel all the way to France in an attempt to meet Bonnie Prince Charlie and stop the Battle of Culloden from taking place. The upcoming season will be based on Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber."

While Heughan and Balfe have been spotted in several filming locations for the upcoming season of the series, showrunner Ron Moore recently revealed the possible release date for "Outlander" season 2. In a series of fan Q&A's on Twitter, Moore revealed that the show may premiere in March or April next year, IB Times reported.

"Hasn't been set officially. Look for March/April," Moore answered.

The showrunner also offered several details about the show's production and said that things are going "really well" and that he is "optimistic" about the storyline set for "Outlander" season 2. Moore also hinted that the cast and crew will be back to Scotland in a couple of weeks after wrapping up scenes in Paris, which are shot in Prague.

Meanwhile, Scottish actor Sam Heughan expressed his excitement over the show's upcoming season and the introduction of "some crazy new characters," Daily Record cited. The 35-year-old actor revealed that the show "looks magnificent," as Jamie and Claire try to move on from the events of Season 1 and move forward with their new journey.
