Beyoncé-inspired Luxury Skyscraper to Rise in Australia

A uniquely designed luxury building, which takes the curvy form of pop star icon Beyoncé, is about to rise in Australia. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, who is a known supporter of vegan foods, became the inspiration of the architecture firm Elenberg Fraser in their design of a 226-meter-high (741-foot-high) skyscraper that will resemble her admirable body figure. In particular, the structure will be dedicated in homage to the singer's "twists and turns" in the music video for Beyoncé's 2013 hit, "Ghost."

The 78-storey building, to be called Premiere Tower, is located at 134 Spencer Street in Melbourne, the second most-populated city in Australia after Sydney. Instead of angular or flat exterior walls, it will be made of a series of curves, waves and bulges.

But it isn't just for the presentation, the building's design was done purposely to meet wind and climate changes as well as to suit the limitation of the site, as explained by the firm in a press statement. "This project is the culmination of our significant research. The complex form - a vertical cantilever - is actually the most effective way to redistribute the building's mass, giving the best results in terms of structural dispersion, frequency oscillation and wind requirements," the firm added.

Premiere Tower will rise over the west end part of the city's business district. Inside, there will be 660 residential apartments that will be constructed, plus a 160-room hotel. Since the tower is thin and tall, many of the units on its upper floors will enjoy a great view of the cityscape below.

As for the interior renderings, it can be gleaned that the rise and fall of the building's curves have been brought inside as the walls and ceilings suggest the structure's over all shape.

The building was financed by the real estate company, Fragrance Group, which is owned by Koh Wee Meng, a Singaporean billionaire.

To be able to proceed with the construction, the Savoy Tavern, a 1970s-era pub, needed to be demolished months after it reopened in 2014, following a 20-year foreclosure.

While many of the citizens would wish for it, there is no confirmed report yet on the possibility of Beyoncé visiting or performing at Premiere Tower.
