PlayStation 4 fans of the video game "Unchartered 4: A Thief's End" could soon sigh in relief. Rumors are circulating that the company behind the famous game has now come up with a release date for the much-awaited fourth installment of the series.

According to The Fuse Joplin, giant retail store Walmart has let slip on their website that the game is coming out on October 1. The video game is available on the site on a pre-order basis for $59.96.

But game developers Naughty Dog and PS4-maker Sony have yet to confirm this news. Previous announcements of the two have remained vague, with only a statement saying that the game would come out in 2015.

On the other hand, Latino Post has reported that since Sony has not made any official announcement on the date mentioned by Walmart, it is possible that the indicated date on Walmart's website is only a placeholder and may change over time.

Naughty Dog is said to have improved the gameplay of this PS4 exclusive to give the players a better experience.

One major change players could expect is that it will "give gamers more options to achieve their goals and accomplish their missions and objectives," noted Master Herald.

In the first three installments of the game, players are "forced" to pick gameplays. But this has now been changed, revealed one of the game's lead designers, Ricky Cambier.

Players would now be given the freedom to solve mysteries they way they want to, which would still bring them back to the ultimate challenge and plotline of the game. The only difference is how they achieve it.

According to Cambier, transitioning the game into an open layout is aimed at ensuring players would have something to enjoy or surprise them, wherever they choose to go.

Aside from the actual gameplay options, developers have also considered upgrading the specifications of the game, reported Christian Post.

The current video game is at 30 fps, said game director Bruce Straley. The team has considered making it at 60fps but is considering its effect on the overall game experience.

The move to 60fps is to maximize the technical potential of the PlayStation 4 console. Straley stated, "We're actually above 30, but we locked it [for the demo]. We're going to do whatever it takes to make the game we want to make."
