Celebrities had been selling and buying properties, sometimes even from their fellow stars. Let us look into some celebrities who have sold their homes and those who have bought new properties as compiled by Variety.

Jason Statham listed his 1920s Mediterranean home in the Hollywood foothills for less than $9 million which he purchased from Ben Stiller in 2011 for $7.35 million. After putting it in the market on June, it was bought by “The Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki in July for $9.2 million.

The six-bedroom residence of Tobey Maguire was sold for $10.4 million to Ronald and Shannan Penna. Said low-key but high-cost Brentwood area in LA was bought from Ricki Lake in 2014 for $8.45 million. Apparently, he cashed in more that $2 million for the property.

Jonah Hill earned much as he sold his Los Angeles home for $650,000 which is more than its $3 million asking price, and his New York City pied-a-terre had a $400,000 profit. Julia Roberts earned $850,000 more from the $4.5 million asking price of her 2,400-square-foot condo in Greenwich Village that she sold.

Of all, it appears that Michelle Williams earned the biggest since she sold her townhouse in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill for $8.8 million which is $1.3 million more than the $7.5 million asking price and it is also $5.2 million more than the price of the place when she acquired it in 2005.

Even if property markets slowed down, there are still plenty of high-profile people who want to buy and sell multimillion-dollar homes. Here are some predictions for 2016:

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens" writer and producer, J.J. Abrams may buy a new property after upgrading his $15 million Pacific Palisades mansion two years ago. Possible, it could be the compound of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner located above Mandeville Canyon with an asking price of $45 million which according to Mail Online was sold after the couple's divorce.

Nicki Minaj reportedly bid for a nine-bedroom Hollywood Hills last fall but did not pursue with it. It is predicted that she would be buying an LA home soon. As for retired professional boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr., he might be purchasing an eight-figure sale price contemporary house above the Sunset Strip with jetliner views.

The 15,000-plus-square-foot contemporary mansion of Sumner Redstone that is located between the estates of Sylvester Stallone and Paul Reiser in Beverly Hills might be purchased by Adele as she reportedly peeped at that property.

Since multi-billionaire Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen did not continue buying a mansion along Malibu’s Broad Beach last fall, it is predicted that he might look into another $25 million-plus oceanfront home.

As for Tom Cruise whose 300-acre ranch in Telluride, Colo. and his 10,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion are for sale, he might be buying a new house soon and might scale down to a smaller residence but may also possibly snatch an exuberantly expensive residence in Beverly Hills or Bel Air. Mariah Carey might be buying a Platinum Triangle estate in 2016, and with the looks of it, Cruise’s heavily fortified estate could be a good option.

Ellen DeGeneres is known for not hanging on to any property for a long time. Hence, she might dispose her condos in Wilshire Corridor LA and her Montecito estate. With that, it is possible that she will be buying another property this 2016.
