According to the Redfin Blog, the home has a rich celebrity history. Ellen DeGeneres, who recently bought an expensive mansion in Montecito, was once the proud owner of the home, before she sold it to celebrity manager, Rick Yorn in 2003. Simpson purchased the home in 2005 for $5.2 million.

The listing records of the home state that the residence was built in 1991 and designed by Kerry Joyce. The home is a single family residence spanning an area of 5500 square feet and sits on a 0.37 acre lot. The place comprises of 5 bedrooms and five full and one half bathroom.

Interior spaces of the two-story home include a formal dining room, a drawing room, a breakfast room, a library, a family room, a den/study,  a theatre, a dressing area, a music room, an office and guest/maid's quarters. Other amenities include a gym, a state-of-the-art kitchen and a laundry room.

Outside, the home has a heated spa, a lap pool with a pool cover, open patios both in the front and the rear, a large lawn with sprinklers and ample parking space with carports.

Only one photo of the home's exterior is available for now.

Now that Simpson is shifting to her new digs in Hidden Hills that she purchased from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne for around $11.5 million, she has decided to bid goodbye to her former residence.

Simpson will be welcoming her second baby in her new home. In April she had a baby shower where she was gushing over all the little gifts she had received for the baby.

"I'm so excited to have a son. He got all these cute vintage cars and I got a lot of little leather jackets I can't wait to try out!" Simpson said to The PEOPLE magazine.

Her daughter, Maxwell, who just turned 1, also seems pretty excited. Talking about Maxwell, Simpson adds:

"She knows something's up. Maxwell is so cute because she'll touch my tummy and she'll laugh and she'll give my belly kisses."
