The housing rentals in Los Angeles is affected by the current housing crisis. This concern is also coupled by the ongoing issue about AirBnB rentals, which one way or another makes the situation a little bit complicated.

While the government is trying to find ways to address the low income housing problem, there is still no stopping for rent to surge.

So what can you rent with your $2000 budget? According to Rent Jungle, the average rent in Los Angeles for 1-bedroom apartment is $1950, but for 2-bedroom is $2591. But that data is based on May 2015 survey. The website says that increase is expected every now and then. For the past 6 months, it has been noted that there's an increased of 10.7% in the average rent in Los Angeles housing rentals, which has an equivalent amount of $222. For 1-bedroom apartment, the increase is about 8.6% which is around $154. As for the 2-bedroom apartment, the data shows 7.8% increase with an equivalent amount of $187. That being said, average American family would likely spend at least a monthly rent of $2800 in the next 6 month based on the data presented.

Interestingly, LA Curbed has a listing of houses which could be yours for $1,700 more or less. Based on the article, this statement is really true: "One man's studio another man's townhouse."

The comparison of housing rentals is assisted by Zumper. First on the list are the 1-bedroom houses. There are three units that are currently listed in the market.

First, the property in Palms. The house brags its hibachi space, wood floors, cool tile in the kitchen including its little built-ins on the end of the counters. It also has one parking space and on-site laundry. The rent is only $1,650. Second, the house in West Hollywood, which has an 820 floor area. The listing says that its first floor has several closet space and "a big wall-mounted air conditioning unit, and includes all the kitchen appliances." It has a sliding glass door that opens out to the complex' courtyard. It also has a laundry area, a pool on-site, and a parking space for the tenant. It is rented for $1,695. The third on the list of 1-bedroom apartment is the unit in Studio City. It is furnished with washer and dryer. The studio "also a dishwasher, a balcony, central air conditioning, and one gated parking spot." Other amenities of the place are the pool and the gym. It is rented for $1795.

For the listing in 2-bedroom apartments, there are two units that are listed for a very affordable price. First is the residential building in South park street, the area between LA Live and 110 Freeway. The Metropolis Megaproject has 2-BR units available. It might be a small dig but it is already decent for an average family to live in. The kitchen in the 1st floor is small but workable. It is also furnished with new stainless steel appliances and its bathroom is newly tiled. However, the parking area has a fee. Rent is $1600.

The other apartment is in eastern Echo Park which has been recently rehabbed. The second floor features "brand new Laminate & tile floors." The kitchen and the bathroom are good as new. The rent says $1750.

While the housing crisis and rental prices are the realities that people face in Los Angeles, there are still a few houses that are affordable. Home seekers have to search online and check the listings of the agents.
