Android L 5.0 Lollipop for HTC One M8 & Moto G, Release Date & Download Coming Soon in Europe & India

The Android 5.0 Lollipop is presently being rolled out to different types of mobile devices. Thankfully for HTC One M8 users in Europe and India, the company has started to roll out the update for their handset.

The catch, though, is that they need to make sure that they are connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection, according to Tech Radar. Either that or they have, at least, a very generous data allowance since the Android 5.0 Lollipop update actually weighs a whopping 780 megabytes.

Gotta Be Mobile reports that HTC has already started distributing the update to their HTC One M8 users in Canada. Plus, it was reported only yesterday that the update will soon roll out in Europe. The mobile company confirmed on Twitter that the update will soon be reaching the carriers WINDmobile, Bell, and SaskTel. Sadly, other carriers will have to wait a little more.

The good news is that HTC One M8 handsets that have been previously unlocked will be getting the update, as reported by Tech Radar. If the unit, however, is tied to a certain carrier other than the three that have been recently mentioned, owners will have to wait until the network releases its own version of the update.

Tech Times says that the European release of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 have led many to believe that a US release is imminent. While One M8 users in Europe are enjoying the new update, the KitKat will have to suffice for American users for the time being.

Another handset that has recently gotten the green light for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is the Moto G 2nd gen smartphone, according to Indian Express. This new update brought this gadget a new user interface which enables more natural touch screen functions. The colors are now more vivid, as well as the edge-to-edge imagery and the unit's typography.

With the update, Moto G 2nd gen owners can see and dismiss notifications on their lock screens without having to unlock them. Plus, because of the update's "Downtime" and "Interruption" settings, users can control which notifications can get through.

Moreover, according to Christian Today, Moto G 2nd gen users in the United States and India will be the first ones to get the update at around the same time Motorola resumes the rollout. Motorola was actually the quickest mobile company to distribute the update, but bringing the update to the Moto G 2nd gen handsets has somehow come to a standstill.
