'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Spoilers: Tyler Posey is New Blink 182 Frontman? No, But He's 'Ready'

With guitarist and lead vocals Tom DeLonge allegedly leaving Blink-182, fans of the pop-punk group are eager to know who would replace him. But while the band is yet to announce their new member, "Teen Wolf" actor, Tyler Posey, is said to be willing to take over the vacated post.

According to MTV, Posey has expressed his desire to fill in for DeLonge after he heard about him quitting the group. The 23-year old actor took to his Twitter to share his readiness to cover for the vocalist.

Addressing band member Mark Hoppus, Posey tweeted, "I'm ready to fill in man. I've been practicing for 23 years!"

Hoppus or anyone from Blink-182 has not replied to Posey's request as of the moment.

The "Teen Wolf" actor has never hid his admiration for the pop-punk trio. In fact, he even had a tattoo inked on his body, which is a tribute to the band.

According to MTV Remote Control, the "Maid in Manhattan" star chose a dB musical note design for his Blink-182 tribute as d flat is the first note in one of the band's songs, which happens to be Posey's favorite.

But Posey's offer is not just a whim, as how it may seem to others. The actor who plays Scott McCall in MTV's "Teen Wolf" also happens to be a member of the band "Lost in Kostko," which is now called "Disappearing Jamie." He acts as frontman and guitarist for the band.

The actor's tweet came a few days after Blink-182 members Hoppus and Travis Barker revealed DeLonge is no longer part of the band in a press release.

According to Newsweek, the band was all "set to play this festival and record a new album and Tom kept putting it off without reason."

Hoppus and Barker further revealed, "A week before we were scheduled to go into the studio we got an email from his manager explaining that he didn't want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinitely, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavors."

Afterwards, DeLonge took to his Instagram account to deny that he left the band.

But both Hoppus and Barker reiterated that the founding member quit. In another interview with Rolling Stone, Hoppus said, "Every single thing that we've heard from his camp - from emails from his manager to our production team - was, 'Tom is out indefinitely.'"

The former guitarist's publicist also released an announcement denying reports that DeLonge left the band.

Meanwhile, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio is said to be filling in for the post DeLonge left at the Musink Festival.
