'Captain America 3: Civil War' Trailer, Plot & Release Date: Daniel Brühl's Marvel Villain Confirmed?

New reports indicate that "Captain America: Civil War" will feature a classic series villain to be played by actor Daniel Brühl.

According to clearinghouse website Movie Casting Call, the franchise's third installment from the Disney Studios and Marvel Studios are looking for talent and crew that can work through the film's production schedule of April 4 to Aug. 8.

The call provides a brief summary of the plot, "In Captain America: Civil War, billionaire Tony Star is pitted against Captain America aka Steve Rogers in a ethical face-off over the U.S. Government's Superhuman Registration Act, which requires all superpowered individuals register their powers and report to S.H.I.E.L.D."

Aside from listing returning stars, which include Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/ Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/ Iron Man), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/ Winter Soldier) and others, it also listed a new name, "Golden Globe Award nominee Daniel Brühl has joined the cast as Baron Zemo."

CinemaBlend reports that the casting and inclusion of Zemo in the film is comes as no surprise, many comic book fans have pegged the appearance of Zemo in the series at some point.

Additionally, the "Inglourious Basterds" was officially announced by Marvel Studios to be part of the cast back in November, but at the time, details about his role were unspecified.

For those who aren't familiar with the character, Baron Heinrich Zemo was one of the Captain's greatest enemies. Zemo was a Nazi scientist who made it through the Second World War and created weapons of mass destruction fr Hitler, reported Nerdist.com. The character's death came during a standoff with the Captain. His legacy was continued by his son, Barom Helmut Zero, was an enemy of the Avengers and eventually became the leader of supervillain group, the Thunderbolts.

The director duo from "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are returning to the lead the "Captain America: Civil War," film using a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Disney and Marvel have yet to comment on the news of Bruhl's role. 

A trailer is expected to drop sometime this year. Some estimate fans will see the first teaser video drop a year before, sometime in May. The film is scheduled for release in theaters April 29 in the UK and May 6, 2016 in the United States.
