‘Samsung Galaxy S6' Release Date, Specs & Price: Smartphone Confirmed To Launch March 2 [Rumors]

New reports indicate that Samsung will be releasing its next-gen flagship smartphone on March 2 during the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2015 taking place in Barcelona.

According to South Korean website Chosun.com, via ValueWalk, the latest smartphone, believed to be a complete redesign of the series, will finally make an appearance in a matter of weeks. The technology fair is a common place for Samsung's smartphone launches. Last year, the South Korea-based firm unveiled the Galaxy S5 along with its Gear, Gear Neo and Gear Fit wearables during the event.

The electronics firm has been tight-lipped about the launch of the expected smartphone. Per a source of Business Insider's Steve Kovach, Samsung is believed to be preparing to launch two variations of the Galaxy S6 during the congress.

Following the same design aesthetics as the recently released Samsung devices, the first of the two models is expected to be made of metal while the second, will be an S6 version of the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

The Galaxy S6 Edge will allegedly have a curved edge on its right side for notifications, updates and commands that will be separate from the main display.

Wearable Technology

Aside from the smartphone variants, SamMobile reports that Samsung has a smartwatch in the works to rival the Moto 360 and soon-to-be released Apple Watch. The wearable tech will be round in design, different from the Galaxy gear look and be pre-programmed with Tizen.
