Emma Watson Topless Photo: Actress Naked on New Movie 'Regression'?

Emma Watson is leaving her "Harry Potter" image behind and is ready to take on more mature roles. The 24-year-old actress is set to appear in an upcoming movie where she would appear topless.

According to Hollywood Life, Watson plays the role of Angela, a young woman sexually abused by her father in the new movie, "Regression." The film, directed by Alejandro Amenabar, would be set in Minnesota in the 90s. Joining Watson in the movie are Hollywood stars Ethan Hawke and Meryl Streep.

Hawke plays the role of Detective Bruce Kenner who is in charge of the case of Angela, who accused her father, John Gray, portrayed by David Dencik, of molesting her.  While he has no recollection of it, Gray admitted to the crime. David Thewlis would also join the cast as Dr. Raines, a psychologist in-charge of helping Gray recover his memories, reported Express.

The upcoming drama is the first time the British actress is baring her skin, noted International Business Times. But some fans, which have seen the teaser of the movie, have expressed disappointment with the scene and described it as "useless and ineffective."

Meanwhile, another viewer told The Sun, "You can see her breasts but they are partially obscured. I think she may have been wearing pasties to cover her ni**les."

It remains unclear whether the scene in question would make it in the final movie as production of the film is still on going.

Watson is known for her portrayal of a brilliant witch, Hermione Granger, in the Harry Potter series. Since the films have ended, the actress has taken a short break to focus on her studies and enrolled at Brown University, said Entertainment Weekly. She has also tried her best to refrain from doing projects that could typecast her in a certain role.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she shared how being typecast had affected her and gave her "a sense of paralysis and stage fright for a while." In the end, she realized it hurt to be categorized for one role and she decided to go back to acting again.

The U.N. Goodwill Ambassador chose projects which would prove her critics they're wrong for placing her in a box. That decision was the beginning for her to venture into diverse and more mature roles such as "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower."

Watson was also in Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring." The actress is set to star next in "Colonia Dignidad," a German drama film, which is set to hit theaters in the latter part of the year.

"Regression" hits theaters Aug. 28, 2015.
