'The Division' Game Release Date & Gameplay Trailer: Xbox One Beta Set for March? [Rumors]

Rumors have it that Ubisoft's upcoming game, Tom Clancy's "The Division," is expecting a beta version exclusively for the Xbox One to come out on March 2015, Christian Post reported.

Ubisoft has not been forthcoming with information on its upcoming MMO style, open world shooting game "The Division." However, the latest batch of rumors claim that despite the lack of news, a March release is likely for the beta version of the game.

The rumors come from news previously revealed by gamer and supposed industry insider Shinobi602 on Twitter, who wrote, "The Division beta in March. Coming to Xbox One first" in November.

Given the upcoming date, gamers are wondering and waiting for Ubisoft to confirm the actual release date, since at the time of the tweet's posting last year, the gaming company did not confirm or deny the claim. News also appeared in May last year that the game wasn't near ready and that development has barely started.

The rumors of a release date also come on the heels of a teaser screenshot of "The Division" which appeared online, according to Gamepur.

The screenshot showed Times Square in New York with the clock showing "23.55" instead of "00.00," which welcomes the New Year. It might mean that an important event will happen when the clock strikes midnight, though no reason has been explicitly stated by Ubisoft as to the photo' significance.

However, fans are still holding onto the promised 2015 release date and awaiting for more news from Ubisoft.

Tom Clancy's "The Division" will reportedly utilize an open world environment instead of a linear story, and players will have the chance to expand their skill set as they play the game, according to Air Herald.

The story follows the events of a viral outbreak and a special unit that was given the mission of securing New York City from the incoming apocalypse and assist the government in maintaining control. Along the way, the team helped and fought the citizens, other military personnel and more who are trying to take control.

In the game, the player has various choices on how to approach each enemy, build up their skills and equipment, find shelter and collect items, weapon upgrades and more.

It has also been previously confirmed that Ubisoft is planning to release an accompanying app to "The Division" or a second screen experience, according to Air Herald. However, further news on such features have not been elaborated more on by Ubisoft.

For now though, fans and gamers are still awaiting official news from Ubisoft on "The Division." It is one among the two Tom Clancy games set to be released this year, the other being "Rainbow Six: Siege," according to Gamepur.
