‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5 Episode 9 Spoilers, Promo, Synopsis: Beth Back? Death All in Rick's Head, Says Fan

Fans of Fox TV series "The Walking Dead" seem to feel the need for one dead character to return so much so that they come up with possible twists in the story's plot just to bring her back.

Beth Greene, played by Emily Kinney, has captured the hearts of the zombie apocalypse fans to the point that thousands joined a petition at Change.org for the show's creators to plot her return.

According to Hollywood Life, tens of thousands of "Walking Dead" fans have signed the online petition initiated by a website user from Portland named Amanda.

"[Beth's] death was far too soon and the writers threw away the potential of a perfectly good character. Her story isn't over," Amanda stated in the introduction to the petition.

Kinney's character had been killed off at the series' fifth mid-season finale, aired on November 30, after Officer Dawn, portrayed by Christine Woods, shot her inside Grady Memorial Hospital

According to Amanda, Beth is "a symbol of hope" for women and those who inflict harm upon themselves after she overcame her suicide attempt during the show's second season.

Now, Amanda's petition had attracted more than 55,000 supporters-bringing her nearly 20,000 signatures away from reaching her 75,000 quota.

Fans are still hoping that Beth would return because it was not impossible, says the Hollywood Life report, since several other characters who died in past seasons were written a come-back.

Aside from Amanda, another fan -- this time, a blogger -- has written possible ways on how Beth's return would look like.

FashionNStyle.com cited the theories presented by the fan and sorted it according to its plausibility, described as "extraterrestrials outside our solar system" or "definitely possible" and "extraterrestrials here on earth riding Narwhals" which means it is "two stops from impossible."

A flashback in an episode about Daryl, played by Norman Reedus, is deemed the most likely theory, according to FashionNStyle, a situation wherein he recalls something which occurred at the time when Beth was still alive but was not shown in the series.

The most outrageous theory, however, states that Beth did not actually die and that all that had been shown in the series about her death was all dreamt by Rick, the leader of the group played by Andrew Lincoln, says the FashionNStyle report.

Meanwhile, other fans still do not believe that one of their favorite characters has been removed from the series.

A fan named "huntingwalkers" posted on Tumblr some key details in the show that would prove the producers would surprise Beth's fans with her return such as the lack of close up shot on Beth's face upon her death as well as the "big coincidence" that Morgan Jones, Lennie James' character who nursed Rick back to health, is back in town.

"So, I've abandoned my 'its all a dream' theory for these facts. Don't lose hope fellow Beth lovers. Our beloved could very well still be alive," he wrote in conclusion.

Here's a video of Beth's death scene.
