Looking for an affordable place to live in Chicago? Chicago Curbed found places across the city that is available for $1,000 a month. These units were also recently renovated.  

At 424 W. Diversey Parkway there is a little studio apartment that is located just a couple of blocks from many shopping and restaurants. The building also offers wide range of amenities like a fitness center, bike storage and a sun deck. Meanwhile, at apartment at 3308 W. Schubert Avenue  is also walking distance from the Blue Line and the hip bars and restaurants. The place is pet-friendly but for those who have dogs, this might cost $300 extra to the rental amount.

For those looking for apartments in the Uptown area, a newly renovated apartment at 849-863 W. Buena Avenue  is available for $1,040 per month. It is located in a large courtyard building and the units are not as small compared to studio and one bedroom units that are found in other neighborhoods. At  4400 N. Rockwell Street, a studio apartment in the Ravenswood neighborhood is available for rent. Although it is not as close to the lake, it is just steps away from California Park where one can enjoy a wide range of amenities like tennis courts, a pool, and playground. It is also close to transportation systems as Western bus and Rockwell Brown Line station are close by.

For those who don't want to live in a studio apartment, this one bedroom apartment at 6945-6951 N. Ashland Avenue is available for rent for $1,025 per month. The building in Roger's part offers spacious units that are also cat-friendly. The unit also comes with free heating system. It is very close from the Red Line and the grocery shopping.
