‘The Flash’ CW TV Series 2014: Firestorm & Dr. Martin Stein Spoilers

Fans of the TV show "The Flash" and its origin story from DC Comics are in for a treat as the next big thing they should be expecting in the CW series is finally revealed.

According to the ScreenRant.com, the CW is beginning to expand its version of the DC Comics world with the arrival of "Firestorm" in its hit TV series "The Flash."

Played by Robbie Amell, Firestorm is a hero with a dual personality. In the original comics, the nuclear-powered superhero was born through the fusion of Ronnie Raymond, a popular high school athlete with more brawn than brains and the Nobel Prize-winning nuclear physicist Dr. Martin Stein.

Dr. Stein is described as a dedicated scientist who devoted his entire life -- even sacrificing his marriage -- to his work involving transmutation. Ironically, he himself accidentally became part of his experiment when he found himself fused with the younger Ronnie Raymond.

After the incident which changed their lives, Raymond took over the super-powered single body as Firestorm with Dr. Stein ending up as a disembodied voice in his mind that provides hero's intelligence.

In "The Flash," Firestorm is a recurring character who aids Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin.

Since the lesser-known comic hero's entry to the show had become a huge it to DC Comics fans, CW has developed his story further by adding Dr. Stein with his own body in the mix. According to another report from ScreenRant, CW introduced Dr. Stein during the series' mid-season finale, played by none other than "Alias" star Victor Garber.

The TV star also regularly appears in several other series including Showtime's "Web Therapy" and Starz's "Power" and has been featured as a guest in "Louie," "Sleepy Hollow" and "The Good Wife."

News about Garber joining "The Flash" came after the entertainment company decided to toss in "Prison Break" stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as the villains Captain Cold and Heat Wave respectively, in its rapidly expanding DC Comics spin-off, noted ScreenRant.

Other stars joining the TV series are Kelly Frye as Bette Sans Souci also known as Plastique, and former "Flash" star Amanda Pays who reprises her character Dr. Tina McGee in the show.

Here's the trailer of "The Flash" episode "Revenge of the Rogues" to be aired on January 20, upon the show's return.
