Home Design Tips: How to Incorporate a Summer Theme in Your House

Summer is such a lovely season as it's the best time to go to the beach. However, if you can't afford to go anywhere because of your busy schedule, why not incorporate a summer theme in your home instead? Here are some tips.

Use the shades of the beach in your house. Go for turquoise, light blue, or possibly a touch of yellow, and afterward match it up with neutral shades like beige and white. You can play with these hues with your sheets, draperies, and different home accents.

If you are not fond of brilliant hues, going white-on-white is a smart idea as well. If you have enough time and energy, you can even change your bathroom tiles to incorporate the shades of the water and sand. Figure out how to design with seaside shades here.

Take your seashell collection out. Transform your prized shells into useful pieces by using them as holders, planters, and fitting centerpieces at home. These little knickknacks will add the ocean component to your home and will make you think back about your beach holidays. Here are anything but difficult DIY ventures utilizing seashells.

Additionally, you can even distress your furniture for a chic-weathered shoreline house look. Head on to the closest thrift shop or garage sale and search for pieces that are made of wood or twine that are in great condition. Paint it over with some classic white, and include little hints of shades like turquoise.

Mason jars are also a nice idea to incorporate in your summer theme. Use them as planters for your succulents, paint over them and use them as candle holders in your washroom, or put a tiny bit of sand and shells in it and place it in your living room. If you have other jars lying around, craft them up as well! You'll find loads of DIY design ideas for a summer-themed home online.
