'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: 5 Actresses to Replace Penelope Cruz [Rumors]

Rumors about Penelope Cruz being replaced in the most recent "Pirates of the Carribean" film has surfaced after reports revealed that Disney is looking into choosing a fresh new face from among five young actresses.

According to ScreenRant.com, the "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell Not Tales," which stars the eclectic Johnny Depp, reportedly needs to cast a pair of "new attractive-but-naive young couple in order to fill the space left behind by Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom."

Sam Claflin and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, who attracted many of the film's fans with their mermaid-priest romance by portraying Philip and Syrena, won't be returning in the fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean" flick, leaving the film one love team short, the report explained.

In order to keep up with the previous plot, producers of the film would be choosing a new addition to the cast from five Hollywood actresses. The chosen one is to be paired with Brenton Thwaites.

The Australian actor, who recently landed the role of the role of a British soldier who teams with Captain Jack Sparrow, debuted as Luke Gallagher in Fox8's SLiDE and is now known for his role as Stu Henderson in a soap opera entitled "Home and Away."

Though Disney is still keeping quiet about details on the new character, the source told Variety that the role would likely be Thwaites' love interest.

Among the top five actresses picked to test opposite Thwaites is Kaya Scondelario, who has recently starred in the young adult novel adaptation of "The Maze Runner," as well as "The Game of Thrones" daughter and Hollywood newcomer Alexandra Dowling.

Also allegedly included in Disney's list is French actress Jenna Thiam, who had her fair share of the spotlight in the series "The Returned" which would soon be adapted by A&E and dubbed in English set to be aired by 2015.

"Endless Love" actress Gabriella Wilde also made the cut. Despite her lack of experience in the entertainment industry, Disney reportedly chose the rookie actress because of her roles in the movie remake of "Carrie" and "The Three Musketeers."

Completing the selection of youthful artists in Disney's list is Lucy Boynton who played the title role in the 2006 film "Miss Potter," posing as the younger of Renee Zelwegger in movie. Eight years since her debut, Boynton made her most recent appearance in an episode of the series "Law & Order: UK."

Directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg would captain the whole production of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" which is scheduled to be out in theaters by July 7, 2017.
