Celebrity Homes for Sale: Rupert Murdoch Lists New York Townhouse for $28.9M

A month after his wedding with former model Jerry Hall, News Corp Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch has listed his Greenwich Village townhouse on the market for $28.9 million.

According to Realtor, the media mogul bought the property in April 2015 for $25 million. Listing details of the property say that the price increase is due to the latest renovations and restorations done with authentic architectural design.

Nestled in the heart of the historic West Village, the stunning townhouse is described as something that is one-of-a-kind with its luxurious lifestyle and downtown living. It features a gracious parlor level that has grand entertaining spaces, high ceilings and an oversized private master bedroom. It also has multiple outdoor spaces great for gatherings and entertaining guests.

The oversized windows of the property allow a lot of natural light to come in, making the rooms bright. The windows also provide stunning views of the Freedom Tower to the South and the Empire State Building to the North.

The lower level is fully furnished with storage areas like the wine storage, and it is also where the home gym, screening room and guest powder room are located.

On the garden level is the grand breakfast room which overlooks the South terraced garden. It has French doors which lead to the spacious garden and private entertaining space.

There is also a fully appointed Poggenpohl kitchen with Miele appliances and high-end appliances like an espresso maker, double oven, convection oven, dual dishwashers and sinks. The elegant kitchen also has a white marble fireplace.

On the parlor floor is the grand foyer and the central reception area which features high ceilings and slab marble floors. It is also designed with elegant molding and light fixtures.

On the third floor is the master bedroom which features a dressing room and a white marble fireplace. The fourth floor is where the two additional bedrooms are located.
