'GTA 6' Release Date, News & Rumors: Should Rockstar Make 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Instead? [Poll]

The success of "Grand Theft Auto V" has prompted gamers to speculate that a new version is set for release soon. The popular game, released by Rockstar Games this year, released on the PS4 and Xbox One last month. The PC version is yet to come in January 2015.

But already, according to Kpopstarz.com, the makers of the game are planning to come up with the next installment, "GTA 6," by 2017.

According to Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar Games, the creation of "GTA 6" may be pushed back as the company shift its gear on other projects, specifically the GTA Online. She stated that, "GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then Online. Plus we have some other things - stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly - that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones."

But Benzies has not ruled out a possible game sequel. "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do," she said.

The president continued, "We don't know what 'GTA 6' will be, but we've got some ideas."

At the "GTA V" release, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser toyed with the idea that the next version could well be very different from the previous. Houser stated, "At the moment it feels like [Grand Theft Auto's] D.N.A. is contemporary-ish, American-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that's what it has been... But that doesn't necessarily limit it to those, that's just what we've done so far."

His remarks fueled further rumors that "GTA 6" would have a different country setting.

Meanwhile, Motoring Crunch reported that a senior developer from Rockstar has leaked that the company is working on a part two of another famous game in their roster. The announcement let many to believe that he is working on "Red Dead Redemption", the second bestselling game of the company.

Other options were "Bully" and "Manhunt" but the two are less famous than "Red Dead Redemption." Kdramastars.com reported that rumors about "Red Dead Redemption 2" abuzz when Feinstein hinted that he is working on a sequel to another Rockstar favorite.

Gamers theorize that the release of "RDR 2" will bring it to the Xbox One, PS4 and also online, which is the same direction "GTA 6" is expected to follow. The company has yet to issue a confirmation on this but if rumor are to be believed, "Red Dead Redemption 2" might come out as early as November 2015.
