Rock star Deryck Whibley is selling his Sherman Oaks home for $2.8 million. According to Trulia, the Sum 41 frontman bought the home for $1.7 million in 2009 after his split with his ex-wife, Canadian pop-rock singer, Avril Lavigne.

The stunning two-story Spanish contemporary home features a traditional Spanish red-clay tile roof and it has a total area of 5,312 square feet. Originally built in 2008, the five-bed, six-bath property boasts a gourmet kitchen that is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances and surrounds the stunning center island. It also has a breakfast area which opens out to the family room, formal dining room and living room.

Listing details reveal that the second floor is where the office is located, and it features custom built-ins and exquisite designs. The master bedroom features dual walk-in closets, and it also has its own sitting area and a private balcony.

At the back of the home is where the stunning grounds is located, and it provides a great space for entertaining guests. It is complete with a grassy yard and an outdoor dining area. People can also relax in the swimming pool and spa.

Whibley, a Canadian native, is the longest lasting member of the Grammy nominated group, Sum 41. He serves as the lead vocalist, guitarist, singer and producer of the group.

Whibley and Avril Lavigne have been longtime friends before they started dating, and in 2005, he proposed to her during their trip to Venice. They got married the following year, but after three years, Lavigne filed for divorce which was finalized on 2010. Whibley, on the other hand, nearly died in 2014 after experiencing liver and kidney failure as a result of his alcohol problem. Since then, the rock star has been trying to move on with his life, and he reportedly just bought a property in Encino, California with a new fiancé.
