House Selling Tips: Which Colors Help Sell a Home Faster?

Your home is a wonderful place for you to go all out and unleash your creative side. However, when the time comes for you to sell your house, not all buyers may grow to love your home as much as you did. Which colors help sell a home faster and which ones deter buyers from choosing your house?

As previously reported here on Realty Today, staging your house can sometimes include changing the colors of your walls at home. This is particularly true for those homeowners who painted their walls with vibrant colors, as not everyone is fond of seeing bold colors every time they enter their house.

About 400 homeowners took part in a survey conducted by Better Homes and Gardens on the colors they were most and least attracted to, Realtor.com reported. The survey showed that majority of homeowners was least attracted to orange, black and violet.

Some 58 percent shared that orange is "way too loud" and would least likely decorate with that color. This would mean that homeowners who are selling their houses on the real estate market might want to think twice before listing their home and consider painting their walls with a more neutral tone. Painting your walls with neutral colors will also help buyers picture themselves living in your space.

Apart from the colors, the poll revealed that saturated hues work best in certain rooms only. The living room, kitchen and bathroom were also found to be the top three areas where color is most likely to be used while sellers are being advised to keep the saturated colors low in the foyer, dining room and adult bedroom.

The publication advised sellers to add color to their home using accents, instead of painting their walls with vibrant colors. The outlet, however, noted that while you should go easy on the colors of the interiors, you can go all out on your front door.
