5 Best Countries to Live in for American Expats

With much controversy going on with the heated presidential debates, several Americans are already fearful of the country's future. Is it time for you to live in another country? Which countries welcome American expats?

Business Insider recently listed five best countries to keep in mind in case your presidential bet does not win the upcoming elections, Realtor.com reported.

Whether you are rooting for Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump, and you are already worried about the country's future should one or the other win and become the next president of the U.S. for at least a couple of years, here are some countries that are willing to welcome you with open arms.

1. Canada

According to the publication, Americans would not have to move to the ends of the Earth just to escape from the circus of American politics. Cape Breton is said to have only twice the average household income as its median house price.

2. Mexico

Mexico may also be a great option for American expats as they only need to get a visa to get to the country. A home in Mexico costs $350,339.

3. Svalbard

According to the publication, this place in Norway does not have any requirements and this place only has about 2,642 residents. While this may be perfect for those who are looking for peaceful living conditions, it can be hard to look for a job.

As previously reported here on Realty Today, the availability of jobs for expats is one of the things that expats often consider when looking to move overseas. Singapore has been named as the best place to live overseas because of the higher chance of growth.

4. Sweden

Sweden is also a friendly place for American expats; unfortunately, the cost of living can set you back a little.

5. New Zealand

Lastly, New Zealand is one of the best places for American expats because of its wonderful scenery. It is also in need of skilled workers, so it wouldn't be so hard for you to look for a job.
