Celebrity Homes: Take a Look Inside News Anchor Katie Couric's Huge Upper East Side Condo Worth $12M

News anchor Katie Couric recently bought a stunning Manhattan condo for $12 million. According to New York Curbed, the former "Today" show and "60 minutes" anchor paid this amount for an Upper East Side property at 151 East 78th Street, the Peter Pennoyer, which is also where other celebrities like Simon Cowell lives. The unit welcomes guests with stunning private entry gallery which opens to the entertainment and bedroom wings.

According to 6sqft, Couric purchased a four-bedroom unit that includes a fifth space which could be used as a library or another bedroom. It features floor-to-ceiling windows and state-of-the-art environmental and mechanical systems like an emergency generator, humidification system and heating system. The living and dining rooms are also said to have full-length French windows, handcrafted pocket doors and chevron-pattern oak flooring.

It was reported that Peter Pennoyer collaborated with Smallbone of Devizes on the design of the kitchen which features coffered ceilings, hand-painted cabinetry and specially made drawers. There is also a walk-in pantry and sitting area on the island and kitchen table.

The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and a five-feature bathroom that has radiant heated floors and eight-jet steam shower. There are four additional bathrooms and a large laundry room.

The building was recently completed by Peter Pennoyer Architects, and it was said to only have a total of 14 residences across the 16 floors. Couric's unit has a total of 3,966 square feett of space and is designed with classic elegance and filled with efficient amenities. The amenities of the building include a gym, private yoga or personal training studio, storage spaces, library and a private garden.

Couric recently works as a news anchor for Yahoo Global News and is living with her husband, financier John Molner.
