The newest show in the Nike Kevin Durant series is slated to drop right before the holidays.
According to Nike, the shoe, set to be launched Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, takes inspiration from the early professional life of the basketball star. The shoe, which features a silver and orange color scheme, represents the experience of Durant in Longhorn during his college years.
"Summer 2006 was a pivotal time for Kevin Durant's growth. The day after high school graduation, Durant moved to Austin, Texas, to attend college. The KD7 Wild West features a silver and orange color scheme that's set off with a metallic Hyperposite heel.
The KD7 Wild West shoe takes inspiration from the Longhorn State and the Austin culture that Durant enjoyed. Knowing little about Texas and southwest hospitality, Durant immediately felt at home when he arrived on campus in Austin. The friendly welcome extended beyond the basketball court as Durant enjoyed the music, people, food and culture that was distinctly Austin," described the sporting brand.
The KD 7 "Texas" will be released this week alongside the the "Wild West" graphic option on NIKEiD, reported Sneaker News.
Durant was a massive success while in Texas. The baller was named the 2006-07 Naismith College Player of the Year. Durant was the first ever Freshman in history to receive the honor. Durant's stats boasted an average of 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds.
The KD 7 "Wild West," which marks the 10th colorway release of the Nike KD 7, sports a features a sleek looking silver mesh on the upper front along with a Hyperposite heel. As a striking contrast, the KD7 has orange accents along its midsole, Nike Swoosh and the KD image on the shoe's tongue.
Nike has released a full N7 collection as early as last month and is available over at Nike.com, Nike as well as Foot Locker, reported Slam Online. The collection also features other apparel which includes hoodies, t-shirts as well as other sneaks.
The KD7 "Wild West" is available in sizes 7-13, 14 and 15 at a price of $ 150. A kids line is also available for $ 115 from sizes 3.5Y to 7Y.
