Home Hacks: Five Things You Need to Get Rid of at Home

Here's a look at the five things you need to get rid of at home if you want your house to be free from any types of toxins.

First on the list compiled by Elle Décor are water bottles. As convenient as water bottles may be, they are also very harmful to your health. The publication claimed that even water jugs that are designed for multiple usages can cause unhealthy reactions to anyone. For one, most water bottles, especially the cheap ones, contain BPA. The latter can cause normal cells from functioning properly. As such, choosing water bottles that are BPA-free are the best way to go.

Additionally, getting rid of plastic food containers is also a must if you want to keep your home as healthy as possible. Plastic food container also contains some chemicals that may disrupt the development of normal cells in the body. Instead of using plastic containers and the like, simply use foil, glass jars or even ceramic containers when storing your food.

Meanwhile, although carpets may help give your home a distinct look, know that it is also very unsafe for the home. Carpets are where bacteria may live in especially when they are not washed and changed regularly. One option you can go for is to choose carpets that are chemical free, and one that makes use of natural materials.

Also, get rid of pizza boxes immediately especially when you bring them one inside your home. If you want to take out pizza from your favorite food joint, ask the staff to wrap your food in foil instead.

Lastly, avoid microwaving your popcorn at home or at the office all the time as they may cause some lung-related problems, according to the CDC. If you are really craving for this type of snack, only go for those that don't have any artificial flavoring.

Now that you know these home hacks, try them out for yourself as soon as you can.
