White House Replica in Texas Is on the Market for $6M

Located in a small town in Texas is a replica of the White House which is currently on the market for $6 million, reports from The Wall Street Journal said.

The replica of the White House is of course smaller than the real white house and is made from limestone. It was built in 1920 for Ross Sterling, a former governor of Texas. The mansion is situated in a small community in Galveston bay where only a few hundreds of people live. It is around 25 miles outside of Houston and is owned by an orthopedic surgeon, Marcos Masson.

Masson said he bought the mansion about three years ago for $3.2 million. Since then, he extensively renovated the house, spending roughly $1.5 million. He also purchased palm trees and sand to create a tiny private beach within the bay. The property measures 21,000 square feet while the real White House has a land size of 55,000 square feet. The replica has some features as that of the South Portifico White House like its two sets of stairs as well as the flagpole.

The replica and the real one are both grand. Swamplot reported the replica having nine bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. It has a room that is overlooking the bay with dual staircases. It also has separate parlors for both ladies and gentlemen, each with a powder room. The mansion also has a ballroom and a library. On the lower level of the house is where the recreation area, billiards, children's playroom, gym, and media room can be found.

Masson said he is selling the house to increase his cash flow for his other projects. The firm which lists the property admitted that this is one of the most expensive homes they have ever listed in the market by far.
