Donald Trump Set to Open $200 M Hotel in Washington, D.C Before the Election

A new luxury hotel owned by Donald Trump located near the White House which is set to open on September. The new $200 million (£140 million) luxury hotel is a five-star hotel that has three presidential suites which might give Trump his own Washington, D.C. if he will not win the presidential election.

The iconic Old Post Office Pavilion of Washington is being transformed as part of the project to make way for the Trump International Hotel which features a signature suite fit for a president.

The hotel has an area of 6,300 square foot which is nearly eight times the size of the Oval Office, and would be the largest suite in Washington and one of the largest hotels in the US. It has 263 guest rooms wherein 35 are suites. One of them is a 6,300-square-foot suite. A private door leads to a two-bedroom suite with a 600 square foot living room, 20-seat dining room, and six-fixture bath and gym, Biz Journals reported.

The guest rooms retained the building's original solid wood doors, wall paneling and wainscoting while 14 to 16ft ceilings, large windows, and wood furnishings were added. Another thing that made the hotel beautiful are the crystal sconces and chandeliers featuring an American design aesthetic in colors of federal blues, soft gold accents, deep red, and ivories.

The Presidential Ballroom is added in the 19th century building with 13,200 square foot column-free space, especially designed for city galas for VIPs or for international meetings. Also featured in the hotel are bars, several restaurants, a library named after President Abraham Lincoln, fitness centre and a spa.

Since the hotel is still under construction, renderings were released for the public to see how luxurious Trump's new property will be.

"For decades people have looked in wonderment at the magnificence of the Old Post Office building and structure. There is nothing like it and we are so proud to have not only brought this incredible building back to life, but also to a position far greater than it ever was at its previous zenith," Trump said according to Mail Online.
