IKEA, a popular furniture store, was recently slammed for allegedly selling leather products that are actually made out of plastic materials.
According to House Beautiful, the company is offering a refund for all the products that will be proven not to be made of leather materials.
A group of Australian consumers recently revealed that some of the products under the store's leather category are not really made of such material. More specifically, IKEA's EKERO armchair was recently revealed to be made out of 75 percent polyester, cotton and polyurethane.
The company is also selling a product that falls under their KVIC series, and it was revealed to be made of leather. However, the materials only appear to be leather, but they're not. Now IKEA is offering refunds to correct their mistakes.
In an interview with Metro UK, IKEA's customer relationship manager Donna Moore said that customers who are unhappy with their purchase will be allowed to return their product. Moore also said that the problem has now been resolved, and they have reached out to customers that may have had some issues.
As of late, IKEA remains to be one of the top sellers for furniture across the globe.
"IKEA have said the problem has been resolved but some furniture still shows up as being made of synthetic materials," the publication noted.
IKEA's huge concept stores come with multiple levels and floors, and each one boasts specific themes. For instance, an entire floor may be allotted for living room and dining room needs, so things like tables, sink, chairs and the like may be sold in that level. On the other hand, a floor that is focused on selling furniture for the bedroom will have beds, linens, sheets, lampshades, closets and a whole lot more.
