‘The Flash’ CW TV Series 2014: Trailer Reveals Reverse Flash [WATCH]

The CW released the teaser of their midseason finale episode for "The Flash" and it's looking like the Flash is going to be having a super-speed match against the Reverse Flash, Screen Rant reported.

"The Flash" recently ended its two-part crossover with fellow CW show "Arrow," airing them on Tuesday and Wednesday for each series' eighth episode. Both series are now set for their mid-season finales.

For "The Flash," the ninth episode has been titled "The Man in the Yellow Suit," and the official trailer shows Barry finally facing off against the yellow blur that killed his mother and put his father in prison when he was a child.

Screencaps from Flash TV News have also appeared, showing Barry looking bloody and giving fans a more close up view of the episode. The official synopsis for the episode has also been released by The CW. It states:

"Barry (Grant Gustin) finds himself face-to-face with his nemesis, the man in the yellow suit, a.k.a. Reverse Flash, who killed his mother. Barry is frustrated when the Reverse Flash escapes, but Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) come up with a plan to trap him. All they need is bait, so they turn to Dr. Tina McGee (guest star Amanda Pays) from Mercury Labs to help.

"Meanwhile, it's Christmas at The West household and Iris (Candice Patton) is in full holiday cheer. Eddie (Rick Cosnett) gives her a surprising gift but also leaves her with a question that could change her life.

"Joe (Jesse L. Martin) joins the search for the man in yellow and ends up in the crossfire. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) finds Ronnie (Robbie Amell)."

Grant Gustin, who plays Barry, said that his character will not find out who the yellow blur a.k.a. Reverse Flash is, according to Science Fiction, at least not initially.

"Barry will actually get to come face to face with him... " Gustin said, according to Science Fiction. "He's vibrating, so he doesn't know who he is. We don't see his face. No characters see his face and the audience doesn't necessarily see his face either, but Barry gets to hear him say that he killed his mom."

On related news, "Arrow" also dropped the official trailer for its ninth episode, which has been titled "The Climb." Oliver a.k.a. Arrow is shown facing off against his own villain, the leader of the League of Assassins Ra's al Ghul.

"The Flash" will air its midseason finale on Tuesday, with "Arrow" following the day after. Both series air at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
