Android 5.0 Lollipop Download for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Revealed [Photos]

Photos of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 operating with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop were revealed online on Monday, Phone Arena reported.

Samsung is reportedly launching Google's latest operating system on its Galaxy S5 in December, but no plans have yet been released on when the Android Lollipop is hitting the Galaxy Note 4. However, interested parties can now get a glimpse of what to expect ahead of time thanks to photos that have appeared on websites. The photos showed the Note 4 with a new operating system that fits the specifications of the Google's Android Lollipop and Material Design paired with Samsung's TouchWiz.

The photos appeared online via Twitter courtesy of user D Dorresteijn and despite the lack of details, the build seemed similar to the Android Lollipop instead of the TouchWiz, according to PC World.

The user posted the first screenshot on Monday morning, showing the lock screen notifications for Facebook. The second screenshot that followed after showed the neon-colored Drop Down Notification Center, which is common in Samsung phones, though its lock screen display looked more reminiscent of the Android Lollipop.

However, there is a chance that the photos are for earlier versions or samples of the Android Lollipop on the Galaxy Note 4, but it would definitely help Samsung's standing to push through with the update. Nexus and Motorola have already taken steps to add the Android Lollipop to their flagship phones and it would do Samsung some good to catch up to its rivals, according to PC World.

The leaked Galaxy Note 4 photos follow news of the Android Lollipop's update on the Google Play Edition or GPE for the Galaxy S4, as well as the release of the Lollipop's test build on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sprint Galaxy S5, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

The Galaxy S4 GPE was released just last year and unlike most of Samsung's latest devices, it did not have the TouchWiz software embedded in it. Instead, it used an Android UI with Material design, similar to most Nexus devices.

Samsung already released the Android Lollipop for the HTC GPE and LG GPE, but only a beta form has so far been made for the Galaxy S4 GPE. There are no release dates set as of yet, though it will most likely come before the regular Galaxy S4 receives the Lollipop.

The official release date for Lollipop on the Galaxy S5, on the other hand, has not yet been confirmed. However, there is a chance Samsung is aiming for a December release so that they could focus on the Note 4 next year, as well as older devices such as Note 3, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
